Why we built Larend™

Hi, we're the small team behind Larend. Here's the short version of how it came to be.

We kept forgetting things that had a right time. The freeze warning came and went and we remembered the outdoor spigot the next morning. The gutters got cleaned after the storm, not before. The furnace filter was changed whenever someone happened to notice it. None of it was hard; it was just easy to miss until it became a problem.

So we went looking for an app to help. We wanted a planner that watched the forecast, knew our home and what was in it, and told us what to do and when, instead of another to-do list we had to fill in ourselves. We couldn't find one.

Between us we've spent more than 25 years building software. After one too many "we should have done that last week" moments, we decided to stop wishing and build it ourselves. That's Larend: a planner that reads the weather, the season and your location for you, knows what you own, and tells you what needs attention while there's still time to do it. It starts with the home, and it's built for anything in life or work that needs doing at the right time.
